Lazy? Safeway's got a deal program for you.

Hate clipping coupons?  Hate waiting for your grocery essentials to go on sale?  Pretty much just want deals without having to do anything?  I know, I was skeptical too.

Safeway's all-digital (no more paper coupons!) "Just for U" program launches today in Northern Cali, and is already in Hawaii and Illinois.  I'm not a huge proponent of it just yet, but there's a big way to benefit from it.  Here's how to turn just 3 minutes of your time now, into months of savings without doing a thing:

Go to http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Offers-Landing-IMG and click the register now button.  You basically just need an email address and your Safeway club card number or the phone number you use for your club card savings.

Under Personalized Deals, click view offers.  Go through and click add on every single thing.  This way, if you happen to buy any of these things, you'll *automatically* get this discounted price.  And these are supposed to reflect things you frequently buy on your club card, so you might find things that you'd actually use!  In 90 days the offers reset but you can just go through and add them again.  There's no limit on how many of these deals you can add, and if there happens to be a sale on that product, you get the lower price of the two.  There's pretty much no reason not to add everything.

Have another minute to spend?  Click on Coupon Center and add all of the coupons.  They are automatically added to your club card account so you don't have to do *anything* else to use them.  No bringing paper coupons to the store, etc.

If you click on the shopping list you can get a printable list of the sales you just added.  I find this helpful if you are a bit less lazy and want to actually seek out the sale items.

All in all, the "personalized deals" aren't as good as the weekly specials that I write about on Safewaygirl, but it's just so easy to get them that it seems worthwhile, just in case I need to buy that item when it's not on sale.  The biggest problem I have with it is that you can't tell which deals on your receipt were from this personalized deals program (the coupons do show up though), but hopefully that's coming.

Happy saving! ;)
