My Easter-week splurge

I have entered into a period of my life when I rarely eat chocolate that isn't dark, and certainly don't pay $3 for it.  But today at the Rivermark Safeway I ran into my newfound employee friend Robert over by the Easter display, and we chatted about our childhoods where we'd receive baskets filled with eggs and candy and toys.  Those, and that annoying plastic "grass" that we'd still be finding pieces of at Halloween.  Our conclusion?  It just isn't Easter without Easter chocolate (or Peeps, but nothing could put me in enough of a holiday high to buy a box of those!).

So here is my Easter 2010 treat: Egg-shaped Reese's.  Of course, there's no waiting for the easter bunny in this household.  I broke it open as soon as I got home :)

The bad news: it's only good March 23rd before 10:30am (or earlier if they run out), with a beverage purchase.

The good news: If you forget to print out the coupon, you can supposedly just show the coupon on your phone to get the free pastry.  You know where to find it :)

Yay for coupons! $10 off at Buca di Beppo through 12/31/10

This coupon is pretty nice if you use it right.  It's $10 off, with only $20 minimum purchase.  So if you take a huge group there the $10 off is pocket change, but if you order pasta and salad for 2 or 3, you're getting 30 - 50% off!

And it's good all year!  And on takeout!

Best Safeway ad deals March 10 - 16: $10.88 Heineken 12-packs, $1 cereals, $1.50 strawberries, 77¢/lb chicken

Finally, an exciting week for sales at Safeway!!  Stock up on German beers for your St. Patty's Day party (and the rest of the year :) along with corned beef & cabbage (only 23¢/lb!).  

Also, lots of cheap cereals for their save $5 on any 5 boxes sale.  Make sure you get the right ones/sizes (price tag will be labeled with the save $5 ad), but remember that you can mix and match cereals of different types and prices.  Enjoy!
